We wanted to show how the fantasy gets real. Look at the expression on the scholar's face - it's pure shock and awe as a beautiful, glowing mermaid (or siren!) literally manifests from the pages of the spellbook. The deep blue library and warm candlelight create the perfect contrast for that dazzling, ethereal aqua glow of the magic.
